Matter/Case Creation date either on Client List or ability to generate a report based on that

When a new file is opened, there are a few things i need to do to make sure it's ready for billing instead of finding out when i go to submit the bill that the information in the client's ebilling portal is not complete. I would like to either be able to see the "Create Date" in the Client List and can sort by to see the most recent files or be able to generate a report for files opened/created in the last 15/20/30 days so i can make sure they're all good to go.

i know when i have a case open/i'm looking at the Client information screen, i can't see the open date anywhere. i have to click Special/Audit Trail to be able to see the date but since i am not involved in the open part of the file, i am not aware if there is a new file for the day/week/month.

thanks,

Also, once this field is created, you can customize your client list to show this field.

    Example:

Select Names > Client Info to open the Client List. Click the List Appearance Options button from the toolbar. At the top of the screen, switch to the Field Selection page. From the Available Fields, double click on the Create field to add it to the Selected Fields and click OK. Now you can see the Created date for each client.

A possible workaround to this is using custom fields.

    Example:

Go to Setup > Custom Fields to view your current custom fields. Click the New button on the right side and choose Date. Name the new custom field something like "Created". Mark the option for "Default to today for new names." Click OK to create the field and then click OK to close the custom fields.

When you create a new client and save it, this new custom field will be filled in with today's date. (You actually have to save and close the client, then reopen it to see the automatically assigned date value.) When you print most reports, you can use that new field to select clients (in this example, it will be listed as Client Created in the select filters).
